چکیده

The effects of octadecylamide alginic acid (amidated alginate) and tetrahydrolipstatin on serum hepatic cholesterol, the faecal output fat sterols, were investigated in rats. Amidated alginate is a sorbent lipids, an inhibitor pancreatic lipase. Rats fed diets containing cholesterol palm at 10 70 g/kg, respectively. Palm was provided by coconut meal. 40 g/kg diet significantly decreased total low-density lipoprotein lipids increased coprostanol. Tetrahydrolipstatin 300 mg/kg fat. intake feed not influenced; however, weight gains rats amidated lower than control group. Both modified fatty profile excreta lipids. Concentrations saturated acids those unsaturated increased. Despite different modes action, equally efficient removing dietary from body.

Protective Effects of Restricted Diet and Antioxidants on Testis Tissue in Rats Fed with High-Fat Diet

Background: A high-fat diet (HFD) and fat accumulation promote the oxidative stress formation, which in turn has hazardous effects on reproductive system and fertility. Therefore, the present study examines the potential positive effects of a restricted high-fat diet (RHFD) and antioxidants consumption on sperm parameters in rats. Methods: 48 male albino wistar rats divided to four groups (n=12...

Metabolic Effects of Methanol Extract of Harmal (Peganum Harmal ) in Rats Fed With Normal Diet

Aims: The research aimed to investigate the effects of harmal (Peganum harmal ) seed extract on the weight and some metabolic parameters. Methods & Materials: Male rats, in groups of 7, received different doses of the methanol extract of harmal seed (100, 200, and 400 mg/kg/d body weight) or placebo via a gastric tube for 42 days. At the end of the experiment, the weights of the body, liver, s...

Anti-oxidant and anti-hyperlipidemic activity of Hemidesmus indicus in rats fed with high-fat diet

Objective: Dietary changes playmajor risk roles in oxidative stress andcardiovascular disease and modulate normal metabolic function. The present study was designed to investigate the ameliorative potential of different extracts of Hemidesmus indicus to experimental high-fat diet in wistar rats, and their possible mechanism of action.  Materials and Methods: Male wistar rats were divided into 6...

Comparative gastrointestinal and plasma cholesterol responses of rats fed on cholesterol-free diets supplemented with guar gum and sodium alginate.

The present study investigated the digestion and cholesterol-lowering effects of the water-soluble NSP guar gum (GG) and sodium alginate (SA) in laboratory animals. Groups of five male Wistar strain rats were fed semi-purified cholesterol-free diets containing 0, 50 or 100 g NSP source/kg for 21 d which comprised a 14-d adaptation period followed by a 7-d balance period. Weight gain over the ba...
